Our story
One corner, one family, and over 35 years of fresh Island seafood.
On this corner since 1850
The building that holds the Water Prince Corner Shop today has had its place in Charlottetown's history since it was originally the Prince Street Grocery, established in 1850. From the street it still looks like a simple corner store. Inside is one of the city's best-loved seafood spots.
Now, for over thirty years, it has delighted visitors to the Island with fresh and delicious traditional seafood under the direction of owner Shane Campbell and his family.

The Campbells
Shane and his son Coady personally select the catch from PEI's local wharves and fishermen, so only the best makes it to the lobster pound and to your plate. Shane has passed the reins to Coady, and Coady's twin sons work here too. That's three generations behind one counter.
Fresh and cooked to order
All of our dishes are prepared as fresh as possible and cooked to order, from our fresh cut fries, to our fresh dipped fish, to our famous seafood chowder. We think that freshness and quality are worth both the time and effort.

A fresh look for 2026
Our restaurant and lobster pound took a well-deserved break for the winter season to focus on renovations, and we were thrilled to reopen in April 2026 with a renovated dining area and a more efficient kitchen.
One of the highlights is the brand-new second-level deck for takeout, opened in late June. It offers panoramic views of the area, including the iconic Founders Hall, for takeout customers who want to dig in while it's hot.
